Hello, everyone. I found out about this place from a link on the SJGames page. I've played GURPS for a long time, and have run several successful campaigns. I plan to start an ongoing campaign set in the GURPS: Castle Falkenstein magickal steamtech setting. I'm here to mine for ideas.
Let's see. I first came across steampunk (before there was such a concept) when I was a kid and watched the old television show, "The Wild, Wild West." As with most other hardcore TWWW fans, I was horrified by the Will Smith movie (except for the spider, which was cool), even though I like Smith most of the time. I next encountered it with, "The Difference Engine" by William Gibson and Bruce Sterling, and I'm also a fan of "Girl Genius."
In the Really Real World, I live in Denver, where I work as a software tester for a large direct broadcast satellite television company. Formerly, I worked 10 years as a newspaper reporter, where I covered business, politics, cops, courts, fires, accidents and all that.
Finally, I've traveled to Europe three times, so far. I've gone twice to Germany, once to Romania, and I plan another trip to the continent in about 18 months. I've gone into London a couple of times on long layovers, but so far have yet to spend much more than tube-train rides into the city and back again, to have lunch and beer.
I look forward to getting to know everyone.
